About Little leaf design
Meet Talia
Hi,
I am the owner of Little Leaf Design. I officially started my business in the spring of 2023. It all seeded from my relentless desire to create beautiful and comfortable spaces for myself and others. The timing came down to two important factors. I came to a place where I had great confidence and gratitude for my career experience. Then there was the support and encouragement I received from fellow female entrepreneurs, dreamers and dear friends. Without which, I may not be on this journey to reach my goal as a source of high quality plant installations and in short; creator of lush, warm and welcoming spaces.
To me, there is no greater beauty in the world than all of the magical jewels created by Mother Nature herself. I believe the natural world is a source for endless inspiration and healing. Those feelings of awe and appreciation, harmony and calm, are what I strive to embody in each piece I offer.
I’ve always had my eyes on the finer details and I knew I loved to work with my hands. As a kid, my Dad introduced me to film photography and I haven’t put the camera down since. I found it to be a very satisfying way to capture all the interesting and gorgeous sights I saw around me. When it came time to choose a career I knew I wanted to create something for people to enjoy. I became a pastry chef and baker. I found steady work, daily satisfaction in my accomplishments and good friends along the way. Some time later, I was ready for a change. I took on two part time jobs to explore new areas of expertise. I spent time at a bay area home staging company. There I curated designs to deck out high end residential real estate top to bottom. Getting homes “photo ready” was a delight for me to be a part of. I also ended up in a job that, in years past, often went on greatly under the radar. I became an indoor plant technician at a 30 year old, female-run company serving the bay area’s corporate and commercial spaces. I was well aware of the profession, as I had a short stint in the career at about 4 years old. My Mom was a plant tech herself at one time. I hold clear memories of misting, trimming and dusting the leaves as we cruised around visiting lobbies and small offices; quietly helping to take care and tidy up. These moments perhaps helped to shape my destiny! I went on to become a Sales Manager / Account Manager and Plantscape Designer for the company. During my decade in the industry, I had the pleasure of designing and creating large moss art pieces that stretched out on long office walls. I got to see offices being constructed and become part of a completed design plan that included green life, ready for employees thrive in. Everything about the process felt designed for me. Mapping out moss art felt like the abstract designs I pridefully drew out and colored in my “artist portfolio” as a young girl. As well as putting together the glittering, festive holiday decorations, detailed to a tea. Having the freedom and power to choose styles, colors, finishes and plant types to create a “look”, was everything I dreamed to do. I also got to share my experience for maintaining plants to new and seasoned employees alike. We were always learning. We all understood the language of plant care and it continues to be a natural space for me to live in.
Today, with Little Leaf Design, I am free to create even more. I strive to be a source for anyone who needs help to transform a space. I pride my business to be a place not only for high quality specimens, but a place to collaborate, dream and bring to life the plant oasis you have always wanted. I am so happy and grateful to be at work in my beautiful hometown of Pacifica, breathing in the fresh salt air. This is where I want to be and my mission is to elevate other businesses in the area by bringing in the polished look of well-kept plants. I am also here to help neighbors and friends as well as they seek the peace and tranquility in their own homes.
I want to give some love and a big thank you to all who believe in me and show their support. To all who read this; I hope that one day I get to bring you some joy through nature, to your everyday life.
Thank you and cheers!
Talia
